Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was raised by a mother who was a housewife and a father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three oldest brothers. McCormick was a gifted entertainer and singer at the age of 6. She perform shows using puppets to entertain her friends. In the year she turned six, McCormick was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether the actress was looking to pursue a career in show business. McCormick got her first job as a major actress in the year 1964. McCormick was in a commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in 1964, for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the main character in The Wind It up and It is Broken, a show in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen out of a crowd of over 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance for the role of the oldest of three daughters towheaded in the upcoming TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. This show lasted for five years. McCormick's book Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. In it she revealed that McCormick was close to losing her virginity on the sets of the show in the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. He was 19. She was just 16. It would have happened she said but the timing wasn't right for us.
